The Antares R3 Versus Evo Adaptive saddle from Fi'zi:k is a revolutionary product that takes advantage of digital 3D printing technology. Unlike traditional saddles, the Adaptive saddle padding is crafted using Carbon's Digital Light Synthesis technology, which allows for greater flexibility in design and materials. This process uses digital ultraviolet light projection, oxygen permeable optics, and programmable liquid resins to create a saddle with excellent mechanical properties and a smooth surface finish.

One of the key features of the Adaptive saddle is its tailored zonal cushioning. Using the Carbon technology, the saddle is designed with multiple functional zones, each with its own cushioning and mechanical response. These zones are seamlessly joined together for optimal comfort and performance.

The Antares R3 Versus Evo Adaptive saddle has been extensively tested in both the fizik labs and on the road. Professional cyclists and amateur riders have provided valuable feedback during the development process, allowing for refinements and improvements to be made. The saddle has been tested under different bike geometries, riding positions, and styles to ensure it performs well in various conditions.

The combination of the Digital Light Synthesis technology and the chosen materials has allowed for scalable production of the saddle. The process is five times faster than traditional methods, and hundreds of iterations have been created and field-tested. This technology represents a leap forward in saddle manufacturing.

The Antares R3 Versus Evo Adaptive saddle is not only innovative, but also durable. It is easy to clean, even after riding in muddy conditions. The saddle has been subjected to rigorous testing, including accelerated weathering, UV aging, and wear resistance, to ensure its long-lasting performance.

Key technologies and specifications of the Antares R3 Versus Evo Adaptive saddle include:

  • Adaptive: Carbon® Digital Light Synthesis™ 3D printing technology for engineered zonal cushioning
  • Versus Evo: Flexibility and full channel design for pressure relief on soft tissue area
  • R3: Carbon reinforced nylon shell and Kium hollow rail for strength and weight ratio
  • Intended use: Road racing

The Antares R3 Versus Evo Adaptive saddle is the result of the fizik Concepts programme, which brings together industry experts and academics to research and analyze technology, design, physiology, and bike fitting in order to improve cycling performance.
